Context 

Every year, Living-in.EU’s signatories shape the working groups’ plans of its five working groups (WGs): legal, financial, monitoring & measuring, technical, and education & capacity building. The Annual WGs plans represent a fundamental instrument to define priorities and activities for the next year. Shaping them together with Living-in.EU signatories allow to reflect the main priorities and objectives of cities, regions and national authorities across Europe for their digital transformation.  

Training: Increasing Digitalisation Awareness and Readiness of German Communities

The European Commission recently launched an initiative to increase digitalisation awareness and readiness of EU communities, which aims to support all cities and regions that are in their digital transformation process, providing resources, best practices and training for the development of digitalisation strategies.

It emphasises a shift in mindset, encouraging collaborative teamwork and multidisciplinary approaches to bridge the gap between policy design and implementation. This course is intended to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the major components of digital-ready policymaking and how they can be effectively implemented by European Institutions and Member State Administrations.

Digital Twins in the Intelligent Transport Systems

Traffic management problems in any city are acute. Previously, this problem was solved by control centers, now such centers require modernization based on digital twins and artificial intelligence. The introduction of Intelligent Transport Systems allows solving the main problems of the transport network and effectively developing it. In this article, the cases of ITS implementation are analyzed, a reference model of the services of such a system is developed.
